PAFL Correspondent Bianca Rodriguez was able to get insights from two coaches of the Juggernauts
According to Coach Angel Calugay Jr.:
We made some positive gains in that certain defensive players made some key plays. We still have a lot of things to work on with our linebackers group and secondary group. We did poorly in our reads and reaction to the run and our safeties were out of position most of the time. As a whole, we addressed the unsportsmanlike conduct of our players and talked about character and sportsmanship during halftime. Our players need to commit more time to develop and improving their skills individually and as an offensive and defensive unit. They need to spend more time practicing – practicing and getting/staying in physical football shape. On the other hand, the league needs to address the foul language on the field and enforce unauthorized access to the playing field by certain individuals associated with a team. The head officials need to call out the infraction committed and the penalty imposed. Week by week we see improvement being made in the control and management of the games.
I believe our offense had a good 1st quarter in moving the ball on the ground. However fumbles, dropped passes, and penalties killed us throughout the game – something that needs to be corrected. We have a bunch of good guys who [have] never played American football so the learning/experience is going hand in hand. We can improve in a lot of areas and as time goes [by] we will improve and learn from our mistakes. I expect our next game to be just as challenging and a [more] offensive game. It should be exciting to watch.
The Juggernauts will be facing the Warriors on September 22, 2018, 4 pm.
